About Roger Dann

About Rick Cooke

Roger hails from Cambridge, England. He started out playing bass guitar and played in many bands 'back home' including 'The Waves' ('Walking on Sunshine' fame), with  recordings and tours of England and Europe with Progressive Rock Bands. Rogers early influences included John Mayall, Peter Green, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. After emigrating to Canada in 1977 he played and toured regularly with Mike McKenna's Sidetrack (Mckenna-Mendleson fame) Blues Band and 'The Suspects' (Kenny Maclean of 'Platinum Blonde' fame). Roger moved to Prince Edward County near Belleville, Ontario in 1984 and has been playing guitar and bass in many local bands since then.

Rick was born and raised in Black's Harbour N.B, He grew up listening to bluegrass and country music until discovering real blues at age 14 when he bought the Muddy Waters 'Can't Get No Grindin' album on 8-track. He hitch hiked a lot in teenage years and always carried his harp in his pocket. Rick lived for most of his adult years in Halifax N.S area and started taking the harp seriously in the mid 80's. He moved to Belleville in 2003 and was a founding member of 'Tore Down Blues Band' in 2004. He has since played with many of the local musicians in Belleville, Kingston and Peterborough and is thoroughly enjoying this new project.
